Born: March 30, 1997, in Gunpo, South Korea.

Education:

• Elementary School: Attended Nungnae Elementary School. At age 9, he spent six months in Tagaytay, Philippines, to improve his English.

• Middle and High School: Studied at Suri Middle School and graduated from Hanlim Multi Art School (Broadcasting & Entertainment) in February 2016.

• University: Enrolled in Performing Arts at Sungkyunkwan University.

Discovery and Trainee Period (2012–2015)

At 14, he was discovered by a Fantagio agent during a school festival. After auditioning “to try something new,” he joined their trainee program.

During his trainee years, he appeared on KBS News and modeled for the beauty brand Shara Shara.

Debut with ASTRO and First Screen Appearances (2016–2017)

• Music Debut: In February 2016, he debuted as the visual and vocalist of ASTRO.

• Acting: Took on minor roles in My Brilliant Life (2014) and the web drama To Be Continued (2015).

• Hosting: Co-hosted Show! Music Core alongside Kim Sae-ron and Lee Soo-min.

Acting Career (2018–2024)

• First Lead Role: My ID is Gangnam Beauty (2018), which propelled him to stardom.
